Jesse believes that preparation, good judgment and meticulous attention to detail are essential to successful litigation. He developed his abilities to successfully advocate at UCLA School of Law, where he was a Florence Virginia Wilson Scholar and Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Pacific Basin Law Journal.
Prior to joining Cheong, Denove, Rowell, Bennett & Karns, Jesse completed a fellowship with the American Board of Trial Advocates. As a fellow, he experienced all aspects of civil litigation during placements with John F. Denove, Louis E. De Hass (La Follette, Johnson, De Hass, Fesler and Ames), and the Honorable Daniel Buckley (Los Angeles Superior Court). Jesse also gained valuable trial experience during clerkships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Alongside senior prosecutors he achieved a flawless record, which included victories in People v. Renya and People v. Coronado.
Jesse graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in economics and political science. During his studies at UNM, he received three notable awards: the Mercer Speaking Scholarship (for winning of UNM’s public speaking competition), the Clauve Award (for demonstrating outstanding leadership and maintaining an excellent academic record) and the Harry S. Truman Scholarship (for nationally significant academic achievement and public service).
As a lawyer with Cheong, Denove, Rowell, Bennett & Karns, Jesse brings his firm commitment to excellence. In his free time, he plans to volunteer for the National Forensic League, an association in which he has coached and competed as a national finalist in debate.
