Michael has done pioneering work in obstetrical malpractice (i.e. birth injury), pharmaceutical litigation, and developed state and nationwide expertise in mass tort cases including L-tryptophan and Felbatol.
Michael has tried to verdict and participated in settlements of more than a thousand matters. He has tried or arbitrated more than 100 cases throughout California. Michael has obtained record setting jury awards for a single person injury matter, punitive damages and loss of a minor. His actions have contributed to increased safety in the aviation, pharmaceutical, and homeopathic fields.
Michael went to U.C.S.B and U.C.L.A. where he received a B.A. in Political Science, with Honors, in 1966, law school at the University of California at Los Angeles (J.D., 1969; President, Senior Class), and Kings College, University of London, London, England (LL.M., International Law, 1970).
