Meet Our Support Staff

A team effort plays a huge part in our success. From the time your phone call is answered, through every step of your case, a very qualified team works together on your behalf.

Melinda Kay

Office Manager

Mindy has been with the firm for almost thirty years, since she was a young girl out of business college. She has literally grown up with the firm. The thing she likes most about this firm is the fact that they truly care about their clients and fighting for the client's rights. She still finds her job interesting after all these years because of the variety of clients and cases the attorneys handle.

Mindy has been a member of the Girl Scouts of America for 15 years, along with her twin daughters. During this time with the Girl Scouts, she has enjoyed participating in many community service projects.

Her time away from work is spent with her husband training and playing with her black Labrador puppy. She also participates in Yoga, kickboxing and other challenging classes at her gym. Although her job can be quite demanding, family time has always been a priority for her.

Lorraine Jackson
Director of Business Development

Lorraine has been with the firm since 1981.  She enjoys working here because "we are a plaintiff firm and my job is rewarding because we help people during a difficult time in their life resulting from personal injury claims."  What she likes most about the firm is that everyone, including partners, associates and staff, work together as a team.

Over the years, the firm has participated in a variety of team building activities including  skiing and river rafting. Also, the Partners support their employees  both professionally and  personally.

Currently, Lorraine is a Board Member of the Century City Chamber of Commerce and was named Outstanding Woman  of Achievement (2002) by the  Century City Chamber of Commerce. She is also a Women's Advisory Board Member of Michel Financial Group, plus a Recipient of the President's Award from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (1998, 2000 and 2001).

She is also the Spokesperson for the American Cancer Society inspired by a personal experience with breast cancer 7 years ago. In May, 2002, Lorraine  established The Lorraine Jackson Foundation which provides college scholarships for children who have lost a parent due to breast cancer. To date,  they have awarded 4 college scholarships. The scholarship recipients are  attending UCLA, Tufts University and Georgetown University.

Beverly Denove
Financial Manager

Beverly has been with Cheong, Denove, Rowell & Bennett for 28 years. She handles everything financial from paying bills, preparing records for taxes to tracking the accounting on clients cases.

Beverly actively follows her son's progress as a catcher for the Cincinnati Reds minor league team. She has also enjoyed playing competitive softball in the past, and now she prefers boating and skiing in her time away from work. Her favorite playtime is spent with her new grandson.

Jerry Berger

Legal Assistant
Paralegal

Jerry came to work for the firm in 2002, after more than 20 years in the legal field, and has been a part of the team every since. He enjoys continually being challenged at his job, with new tasks and learning new things. He appreciates knowing that he can express his own opinion about a case and having that opinion considered. Jerry shares the benefit of his own personal and professional experiences with new associates.

He is also not one to sit idly by in his personal time. He keeps himself and his mind active by reading and writing, as well as watching a myriad of  television shows ranging from old movies, sci-fi, news and stock market programs. He also enjoys various genres and styles of music. He and his wife care for four parakeets (2 English budgies and 2 American budgies).

Jerry enjoys looking up obscure information on the internet and is a master at online investigation.

Devon Fleury
Secretary

Devon has been a secretary with Cheong, Denove, Rowell & Bennett since the end of 2006. She loves that there is so much to learn and that her co-workers are eager to teach her.

She thinks the members of the firm make a great team and the overall "vibe" of the office is great.

In her spare time she enjoys reading and writing , going to the movies and spending time with her friends and family.

Courtney Estorga
Receptionist

Courtney joined Cheong, Denove, Rowell and Bennett in November 2008.  She enjoys working at the office because of the great people.

Courtney is always determined to get the job done and makes sure nothing is left behind.  In her spare time she enjoys going to NHL hockey games, taking drives up and down the coast, reading a good book, and relaxing.

River rafting is just one of the team building sports enjoyed by the members of the firm Cheong, Denove, Rowell & Bennett.
